Apr. 24--If those petitioning for the ouster of Mayor Mike Levsen get the required signatures, the recall vote would not be held during the June 7 municipal election in Aberdeen, according to information from the South Dakota Secretary of State's Office.

City officials have been corresponding with the Secretary of State's Office since earlier this month about when the recall election would be.

The documents, provided by the city Friday, reveal that a special election, costing the city as much as $20,000, would have to be held.

The Secretary of State's Office said the petitioners had until 5 p.m.
