Poland's GDP growth presumably at 3.5% in Q1 2005, Piechota

Warsaw. April 26. INTERFAX-EUROPE - Poland's GDP growth probably amounted to 3.5% in the first quarter of the year so that reaching the planned 5% for the whole of 2005 will be hard and will depend mainly on the zloty's exchange rate and exports, the state news agency PAP reported Polish Economy Minister Jacek Piechota as saying on Tuesday.

"GDP growth was close to 3.5%, so it will be hard to reach 5% GDP growth in 2005. It will depend on the exchange rates and the profitability of exports. If this profitability rises then 5% will become more realistic," Piechota said.
