Microdermabrasion
What is it? Mechanical exfoliation of the face - "polishing" off the top layer of dead skin cells, using a jet of minute crystals. Almost like sandblasting a building, though practitioners don't like the comparison.
What does it claim to do?
Exfoliating freshens dull-looking skin by getting rid of the greyish layer of dead cells that coats the epidermis, or outer layer of skin. The treatment encourages faster cell turnover as the skin works to repair itself, and removing the thicker outer cells makes the skin more receptive to whatever treatment creams are subsequently used on it.
