The Shedd will get into the "swang" of things Thursday night with a performance from the Eugene band Swang.
The five-member acoustic swing string band will perform as part of the Shedd Casuals series. The group specializes in "the popular music of the past," guitarist Alan Phillips said: "Dixieland, swing, old-timey country, bluegrass, gospel."
Phillips said he initially wanted to form a band to play Dixieland and early swing music, stuff normally associated with horn bands - those featuring trumpet, trombone, clarinet or tuba.
