According to "Jordan Times", environmental changes are to blame for an increase in infertility rates in the Kingdom over the past two decades, a health official said. According to Abdul Malek Abdul Malek, president of the Jordanian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, 15 per cent of couples in the Kingdom suffer from infertility complications. Fifty per cent of those cases are caused by male infertility, up from 30 per cent, he added. The prevalence of certain chemicals in drugs, exposure to radiation and the hormones sprayed on agricultural crops are all blamed for the rise, Abdul Malek said.
