Nobody ever said a chain-link fence was beautiful. But you can make it beautiful if you use it as a trellis. Here are some vine ideas for turning your barrier into a landscape asset.
Start by being sure to select the right type of vine. Good choices include any of the twining vines such as morning glory, honeysuckle, purple hyacinth bean and wisteria. All can easily wrap their way up chain-link fabric.
Clasping vines also easily climb a chain-link. This type of vine has specialized stems called tendrils which reach out to grasp the chain-link fabric, holding the vine erect. Examples include ...
