Article: U.S. reps agree fed aid to medical center doubtful.(Westchester Medical Center)

The financially troubled Westchester Medical Center, which has asked for federal money as part of an aid package to close its anticipated $110 million financial shortfall, can't expect a rapid infusion of cash from Washington, three members of the area's congressional delegation said last week.

While U.S. Reps. Eliot Engel, Nita Lowey and Sue Kelly said they were working on long-term proposals that would help the medical center's bottom line, they said the federal budget situation means they are limited in what they can do in the short term.
