PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local NATIONAL PETROCHEMICAL PCL (NPC) had initially planned on building an ethylene cracker with an installed production capacity of 410,000 tons per year (t/y) at an estimated cost of $444,000,000. However, the company's Board of Directors recently approved the company' plans to increase output up to 1 million t/y. In so doing, a total investment of $761,000,000 has now been approved for the upgrade project.
In so doing, the new facility is to be built by a 50:50 joint venture operating under the name of PTT POLYETHYLENE LTD. The latter is being promoted by NPC and its parent PTT PCL. In so doing, the new facility will also ...
