They woke up early on Sunday morning and braved rain, snow and a chill wind -- all for the love of beer.
This is Wisconsin, after all.
Hundreds of people lined up outside eight local liquor stores, brew pubs and taverns for a chance to buy tickets to the Great Taste of the Midwest, Madison's annual craft beer festival, set for Aug. 13 at Olin-Turville Park.
One man staked out a space in the parking lot at Steve's Liquor & More, 8302 Mineral Point Road, around 3 a.m. Sunday; by 10 a.m., there were 60 to 75 people in line there, said beer manager Jan Earnest, who described the crowd as "relaxed ...
