It is the Group With No Name. They could call themselves Three Texans & That Other Rocker from Indiana. Or maybe Guys with (Acoustic) Guitars & Pompadours.
As it was, Guy Clark, Joe Ely, John Hiatt and Lyle Lovett lined up onstage Wednesday at the State Theatre in Minneapolis in alphabetical order - or if you prefer, in order of oldest to youngest. One at a time, minding their ABCs and Ps and Qs but not necessarily their elders, they each sang a song, accompanied by his own acoustic guitar.
Lovett, the lovable country/blues/folk/jazz oddball, is probably the best known, though Hiatt, Indiana's second most famous ...
