We received boxes of hand-me-down kids' clothes in good condition except that the clothes smell of smoke. They have been washed several times, even in baking-soda water, and the odor persists. Some of the clothing cannot be washed with chlorine bleach. What can we do?
If washing isn't working, consider dry cleaning. Some dry cleaners use a deodorizing process (ozone treatment) that actually breaks up smoke molecules to eliminate odor. This treatment produces an oxidizing agent that creates the smell in the air associated with a ...
