The China Fund, Inc. , today announced that it has declared an annual dividend and capital gain distribution to the Fund's stockholders. The amount per share of dividend and capital gain distribution is to be determined by an officer of the Fund on or before December 23, 2002 and estimated to be between $0.20 and $0.24 per share. The estimated dividend and capital gain distribution per share comprises net investment income through December 31, 2002 and realized short-term and long term capital gains through October 31, 2002.
