United Nations, May 5 (PTI) The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday unanimously confirmed Kemal Dervis, a former finance minister of Turkey and senior World Bank official, as the next Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Dervis, currently a member of Turkey's parliament, is expected to officially start his four-year term on August 15, 2005.
"I am thrilled that the Secretary-General and the General Assembly have placed their confidence in me as the new UNDP Administrator," Dervis said.
