For years, metalcasters and their customers have worked independently of one another in designing and producing cast parts. A clear line is drawn between the company designing the part and the metalcaster producing the part. Even when dealing with the same part, the metalcasting facility and casting designer often toil almost in ignorance of each other and work at solving their problems or improving their quality and productivity in separate ways.
