It is the multimillion-dollar television station aimed at bringing a taste of freedom in America to 10 million Cubans.
Yet virtually no one in Cuba has ever caught a glimpse of its programming.
TV Marti, the tax-funded propaganda station that spends $12 million a year directing entertainment and information at Fidel Castro's island, can be seen only by Cubans wealthy or powerful enough to own a satellite dish in a country plagued by massive food and fuel shortages.
And even those privileged few see it only if they are awake in the wee hours. TV Marti beams its programs only from 3:30 to 6 in the morning.
