South African vocal group Ladysmith Black Mambazo has been marrying the intricate rhythms and harmonies of its native musical traditions to the sounds and feelings of Christian gospel music for more than 40 years.
The group's first Grammy win came in 1987 during apartheid for the album Shaka Zulu. Its second Grammy win earlier this year for Raise Your Spirit Higher also holds a special meaning.
