Will 27 meters along the Capitol Square make it easier to shop downtown?
It certainly won't hurt.
Can adding the parking -- gone from the Square for about 30 years -- mean much to merchants and restaurateurs there?
It could.
Adding these metered parking stalls along the outer rim of the Capitol Square Monday could potentially get more people on the square to shop and eat. It could also provide space for customers to pick up larger purchases and access to people who can't walk from ramps.
It may be all a matter of perception.
