May 7--The champagne will be flowing, flowers handed out and gifts bought to celebrate Mother's Day tomorrow. And as moms enjoy their special day, so will local restaurants. Mother's Day is one of their busiest days of the year.
The National Restaurant Association estimates that 38 percent of Americans will celebrate this Mother's Day by dining out, compared with 30 percent in 1996.
"We will be busy nonstop for five solid hours," said manager Camille Pety of Crumpets Restaurant and Bakery at Harry Wurzbach Road. "People think they are the only ones who go out for Mother's Day. They can't understand why it's so busy."
