Much has been written on macro photography in this Journal and other magazines, so some of what we have to say might not be completely new to some readers. It does represent information that we have found to be of particular interest to a number of photographers in the groups with whom we have worked.
Over the past ten years we have led a number of seminars, field trips, and workshops on nature photography, usually with an emphasis on macro photography. We should note that we are field photographers, not studio photographers. Studio photography of nature subjects does require many skills, but we do not consider this to be true nature photography.
