Q. I often write in German and occasionally in French and need a way to type umlauts on "a" or "o" or "u" or accents in French. Since both are Microsoft programs, I tried the insert method that works on Word but cannot get it to work on Outlook Express.
The frustrating thing is the symbols are resident in the program, since they appear on incoming messages. There is probably an easy way, and I just don't get it.
Thank you for your help with this, which has been frustrating me for years.
