Six months before a permanent chief executive officer is supposed to be in place, Westchester Medical Center has not begun the national search it had talked about conducting at the end of last year, while it nails down a package of government subsidies and other revenues designed to ensure the hospital's long-term financial future.
The deficit-plagued hospital's board of directors last December named one of its members, Mitchell C. Hochberg, to chair a search committee for a permanent chief executive. That panel has yet to proceed with vetting candidates, however.
