They will meticulously position lines of colored sand for five straight days.
And then, like sand slipping through an hourglass, it all will be swept away.
A group of Tibetan Lamas will return to Harper College in Palatine Monday to present "The Mystical Arts of Tibet" beginning at noon.
The monks will destroy the sand painting, called a "mandala," at noon April 29 to underscore the Buddhist belief that life is only momentary.
