Environmental Benefits of Rail Too Significant to Ignore, CPR's CEO Says
Canada can decrease greenhouse gas emissions substantially by expanding the role of freight and passenger rail throughout the country, Robert Ritchie, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Pacific Railway (TSX/NYSE: CP), said today.
"Rail is the safest, most cost efficient and environmentally-friendly form of surface transportation," Mr. Ritchie said in a speech to the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.
