TOKYO & IRVINE, Calif. -- Toshiba Corp. and Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. (TAIS), the industry pioneers in small form factor hard disk drives (HDDs), have strengthened their global product development capabilities for HDDs and engineering support resources for PC and consumer electronics customers with the acquisition of Panasonic Shikoku Electronics' HDD design center in Fremont, Calif. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
