Could a simple and inexpensive test help predict who is at increased risk for heart disease? A recent study of 66,000 women added to the mounting body of evidence that inflammation plays a pivotal role in strokes and heart attacks. Researchers suggest that inflammation may weaken blood vessels and cause fatty buildup, which can then break loose and create a blockage.
