First, Denver Broncos safety John Lynch wanted a retraction from the NFL.
He did not get one.
Then, Lynch wanted the league to rescind his $75,000 fine for a hit on Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark in the Jan. 2 regular-season finale.
He did not get that, either.
In the end, despite saying he was "optimistic . . . really optimistic," Lynch fought the NFL's law and the law won because the league was not swayed by his argument.
The NFL has informed Lynch his appeal of the fine has been denied and he will have to pay the bill. All fine monies collected by the league ...
