COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. _ Conrad Lozano marvels when he recaps his career as bassist for Los Lobos, the acclaimed Los Angeles-based Mexican-American rock band.
``We feel very fortunate to be in the rock 'n' roll scene,'' he says. ``When we were kids we had dreams of being rock 'n' roll stars.''
After 20 years, Lozano and his bandmates _ drummer Louie Perez, singers and guitarists David Hidalgo and Cesar Rosas and saxophonist Steve Berlin _ are certifiable rock stars, popular with critics and _ for a while after the megahit movie ``La Bamba'' _ Top-40 audiences.
