Constellation Energy today announced the completion of the acquisition of the R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant, a 495-megawatt facility located north of Rochester, N.Y., from Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation (RGE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy East .

With the addition of Ginna, Constellation Energy now owns and operates three nuclear power stations with five units, as well as a diversified fleet of coal, natural gas, hydro, geothermal, solar, and biomass powered power plants, totaling more than 12,500 megawatts.
