Alteon Inc. today announced the presentation of detailed findings from a post hoc analysis of the Phase 2b SAPPHIRE/SILVER trial of Alteon's lead A.G.E. Crosslink Breaker, alagebrium, at the American Society of Hypertension (ASH) Nineteenth Annual Scientific Meeting. The data demonstrate that treatment with alagebrium, as recorded by ambulatory blood pressure measurement (ABPM), resulted in a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure (SBP) in patients that are traditionally difficult to treat.
