Beit Shemesh Engines, (BSE) the Beit Shemesh engine manufacturer under the management of Ormat Industries, has recorded a growth in sales.

However, ongoing difficulties may yet prevent Ormat from purchasing the government's shares in the company. A final decision on this matter is expected to be made at the beginning of 1994.

BSE began experiencing difficulties following the cancellation of the Lavi project in 1987. The company was to have manufactured and installed the airplane's engine.

The government holds 60 percent of the company's shares, with the remaining 40 percent being held by Pratt & Whitney, which developed the engine for the Lavi. ...
