A recent news release of the American Council for Drug Education notes that LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) is making a comeback among America's teenagers. A national survey found that more high school seniors use LSD (6.3 percent) than cocaine or crack (4.4 percent). The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) reports that LSD is "the fastest-growing drug of abuse among the under-20 age group."
One reason suggested for LSD's resurgence might be the pop culture's renewed interest in the '60s (music, magazines, films, tie-dyed fashions, etc.). Others point to its low cost--a $2 "hit" can last up to 12 hours--and the fact that today's youth seem to have no ...
