Macquarie Capital Alliance in Australia could be about to announce its EUR1.8 billion purchase of a pan-European directories business. It is believed the private equity "cash box" is mustering funds from its parent, Macquarie Bank, and its investors to help it finance the acquisition of Yellow Brick Road from European private equity groups, Veronis Suhler Stevenson and the 3i Group. Yellow Brick Road produces solid cash flow so high gearing levels are manageable.
