OVERVIEW:

The liberalization of Japan's power supply entered a new phase on April 1 as retailing electricity to smaller businesses that consume 50kwh or more was deregulated. The latest round of the deregulation has increased the proportion of non-regulated part of the power retail market to about 64% from 41%.
