NORTH BEND - Douglas County authorities said Tuesday that North Bend Superintendent Michael Struiksma was cited for public indecency after an alleged incident last month in a Winchester Bay public restroom.
Struiksma, who resigned from his position as superintendent Monday night, will appear before a judge May 31 to answer to misdemeanor charges that carry a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $6,250 fine.
The charges came about after a Douglas County Parks Department employee overheard what he believed was a sexual encounter in a bathroom stall at the crab dock in Winchester Bay on April 21.
