Summer 2006 opening of IKEA Canton to bring unique shopping experience to Michigan
CANTON, Mich., May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- With company representatives, township officials and community leaders on-hand, IKEA, the world's leading home furnishings retailer, today began demolition of a former Super Kmart store that will give way to a future IKEA store, opening Summer 2006 in Canton Township. The 311,000 square-foot future IKEA Canton will become the 28th IKEA store in the U.S., and fourth in the Upper Midwest, joining stores in: Schaumburg, IL (opened 1998); Bloomington, MN (opened 2004); and in Bolingbrook, IL (opening this Fall).
