Mumbai, May 13 (PTI) Casting aside the model nikhanama drafted by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, 10 couples on Friday renewed their marriage vows under a self-styled nikhanama that assured women equal rights to property and divorce.

The event was organised under the banner of Hukook-e-Niswan Mahila Sanghatan, which has been spearheading a movement against the model nikhaanama drafted by AIMPLB on the grounds that it was "unfair and prejudiced to women and regressive in its approach to women's rights".
