Clean drinking water in El Mirador, improved soccer fields in Olinala, a community center in Tianquizonco and new ditches along the Chapa-Los Sauces road.
Projects such as these are the lifeblood of the three dozen clubs in the Villa Park-based Federacion de Guerrerenses.
For a dozen years, members have been pooling resources with the government of Guerrero, Mexico, to make improvements in the south- of-the-border pueblos they once called home.
The government invests $3 for every $1 the clubs put into improvement projects in their native towns.
