The PWC world changed forever last October when Chris MacCluggage parked his two-stroke raceboat just before the 2004 Lake Havasu IJSBA World Finals Pro Runabout 1200 main event.
Four-strokes had already supplanted their predecessors from the showrooms. But for the first time, one would do the same on the race course as MacCluggage dusted off his STX-15F racer--then still in development--and dusted off the runabout competition as well.
With due respect--hey, we're about to hand out the 2005 WaterCraft World Product Innovation Award, after all--this year's selection is honored not as much for what it is as what it represents.
