THERE is no precious metal or stone on this planet to match the achievement of Percy and Florence Arrowsmith. They celebrated their silver wedding anniversary so long ago that they can hardly remember it.

There was a big golden wedding party for their 50th and a nice diamond anniversary dinner in an Italian restaurant for their 60th.

In 1995, they marked 70 years of marriage with a special platinum anniversary service at the local cathedral. So what goes with an 80th wedding anniversary?

Mr and Mrs Arrowsmith have no idea - and nor does anyone else because weddings, and jubilees for that matter, were never meant to reach this stage.
