Nearly 9,000 line and tree workers are in the field restoring power to the thousands of Progress Energy Florida customers who lost service as a result of Hurricane Frances. As of 11:00 a.m., 418,216 customers remain without power. Progress Energy Florida has restored power to 597,867 customers who lost power at some point during the storm. Due to the rolling nature of Hurricane Frances, Progress Energy's outage peak was set at different times in different areas. The highest number of customers out in each of our regions totaled 832,898 between Sunday night and Monday as the storm moved from southeast to northwest across the state.
