Brown Shoe Company, Inc. today announced results for its 2004 fourth quarter and full fiscal year, which ended January 29, 2005.

Net sales for the fourth quarter rose 9.8 percent to $476.5 million from $433.8 million in the year-ago quarter.

Fourth quarter net earnings per diluted share were $0.46, compared with earnings per share of $0.25 on a restated basis in 2003. Net earnings were $8.5 million, versus $4.7 million in the year-ago period.
