Anyone looking for a pattern in the Hannibal and Pulaski school budget plans voters rejected Tuesday will have to look beyond the numbers.
"Two budget were defeated, one had a 40percent (tax) increase and the other was 3.6," said Pulaski Superintendent Marshall Marshall. "What do you make of that?"
In Pulaski's case, the projected tax increase, one of the smallest in the county, seems to have had little to do with the budget's defeat.
