CHICAGO -- Tamari & Blumenthal, LLC filed a lawsuit for a Chicago-area man on Wednesday, May 18, 2005, against J.C. Penney Corporation, Inc., the wholly owned operating subsidiary of J.C. Penney Company, Inc., in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.
The suit alleges J.C. Penney terminated Joseph Manasse because some employees had a problem with him including the fact that he is HIV positive. The suit also alleges J.C. Penney falsely accused the plaintiff of stealing money as grounds for the termination.
