SPIDERWORT, or Tradescantia, is a brilliant blue native plant, but it might not suit all gardeners.
Spiderwort has a wildness about it that's hard to fit into a neat flower bed, but mine stops me cold every morning when I visit my garden because the blue is so beautiful and the blooms grow in such an interesting way.
The small three-petaled flowers are stunners with their feathery blue stamens tipped in bright contrasting yellow. They grow on sturdy green stems but look as though they are perched right on top of long grass-like leaves. In truth, flowers and buds ...
