WASHINGTON, May 20 (Yonhap) -- There has been no word from North Korea since it had rare bilateral contact with the United States last week over their nuclear dispute, the State Department said Friday. On Thursday, the U.S. acknowledged that its officials visited North Korean diplomats stationed in New York on May 13 to clarify Washington's position on the nuclear issue. The meeting, the first face-to-face contact between the two countries in half a year, boosted hopes for North Korea's return to the six-party talks on ending its nuclear program.
