May 23--TOKYO -- Prosecutors began searching offices of some heavy machinery companies, including Yokogawa Bridge Corp. and Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., on Monday for evidence of suspected bid-rigging practices related to bridge-construction projects, investigative sources said.
The Tokyo High Public Prosecutors Office is expected to search about 100 locations related to 47 companies for several days following criminal complaints filed earlier in the day by the Fair Trade Commission against eight of them, the sources said.
