NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Soldiers from Fort Campbell, Ky., are getting ready to go to Iraq -- and turning to Nashville police to learn a thing or two about combat.
The U.S. Army soldiers recently began training in Nashville to learn in an unfamiliar environment as well as practice skills -- such as dealing with combatants in urban areas -- that police train for regularly.
In Iraq and Afghanistan, combatants aren't always found dressed in military gear, said Lt. Col. Marc Hutson, a battalion commander with the 327th Infantry Regiment.
Like police, soldiers may have to go into a house or an urban neighborhood ...
