Mike Harris, of Montezuma, was hubcap deep in the mud, spinning his tires and loving it.
"I enjoy it," Harris said. "Just gettin' in and playing in the mud.'
He was among the 22 drivers who brought pickups and all-terrain four-wheelers to Conquest to romp in the mud and to raise money for the Conquest Fire Department. The mud bog competition pits driver and machine against a 250-foot-long stretch of water-and-dirt slurry. The object is to see who can drive the farthest.
Harris bought his Chevrolet K-Ton pickup last fall and worked on it over the winter to compete.
