May 23--Frederick County has come a long way in the hotel accommodation arena -- from 1,226 national brand hotel rooms in 1995 to 1,803 today, a 48 percent increase in 10 years. The county has a total of 2,015 rooms for all hotels as of May 2005.
The county's 27 hotels and motels -- combined with a supply of bed and breakfasts, cabins, camping areas and vacation homes -- offer variety for staying overnight.
The county's newest hotel, a 143-room Hilton Garden Inn, is expected to open in the summer of 2006.
A new hotel has not been built in Frederick County since the 1996 opening of the Fairfield Inn, according to John ...
