The fullcourt, all-night experience of the NBA playoffs should not be attempted by anyone who operates heavy machinery.
But if your job involves nothing more dangerous than pushing around a ballpoint pen or a mouse, and you also work in an office where afternoon naps are encouraged, this time of year is manageable, if just barely.
This is the month when I shuffle into work dazed and on the verge of dozing. It's the time of year when I crawl into bed early in the morning after the final seconds of a televised game wishing I was a fan of a sport that played in daylight hours.
